On
the 20th of February, WA swimming hosted the Summer Sprints at
Challenge Stadium. The event brought out Western Sprint Academy
Athletes Steve Neuwert, Braydon McIntosh, Kim Valas and Ashley Lenton.
Although 2 weeks out from the upcoming Australian Championships, it
was a good hit-out opportunity for Academy athletes. Steve Neuwert
placed first in the 50m butterfly narrowly missing the qualifying time
for the Australian champs. “Although not the best time, these
conditions forced me to race, something I haven’t done for some
time. It’s a good opportunity to focus on different aspects of my
race and I’m happy with the way I swam” Neuwert said.
